THE IMPORTANCE OF THE MEDICAL TEAM IN THERAPEUTIC SUCCESS. THE UNDERUTILISED CLINICAL PHARMACIST

Therapeutic success and patient satisfaction with medical care are influenced by a variety of factors, among which effective collaboration within the medical team is particularly notable. Not only are professional competence and individual experience essential, but also the quality of interactions among the members of the therapeutic team. In this context, we aimed to assess the perception of medical staff through a questionnaire regarding interdisciplinary collaboration and its impact on therapeutic success and patient satisfaction. Although most respondents emphasised the importance of cooperation and stated that they strive to provide patients with complete and accurate information, the results indicate situations where ethical standards are not fully respected, potentially having a negative impact on the quality of care. Another relevant aspect highlighted by the study is the perception of the clinical pharmacist’s role. Over 50% of respondents believe that their involvement could significantly contribute to improving the quality of medical services through early identification of drug interactions, monitoring of adverse reactions and treatment adjustment based on laboratory results. These findings support the need to integrate the clinical pharmacist as a permanent member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
