IR AND THERMAL CHARACTERIZATION OF NEW SILICOTUNGSTIC ACID COMPLEXES WITH CLEMASTINE AND TIMOLOL

Clemastine and timolol react with silicotungstic acid (H4SiW12O40) and form hardly soluble ion-associations. The structures of the obtained complexes were confirmed by IR spectral analysis and thermogravimetric analysis coupled with differential calorimetric analysis. The conditions for processing the complex combinations were established in order to further assay the drugs. The chemical formula, molecular weight and solubility in water for the two complexes were determined.
