The 1,4-dihydropyridine structure is a very versatile and drug feasible template allowing multiple structural modulations and the resulted molecules can exert potent and selective actions on a large spectrum of biological targets. As a continuation of our previous research focused on the 1,4-dihydropyridine scaffold we designed and synthesized some new methyl 5-alkyl/aryl-carbamoyl-2,6-dimethyl-4-(substituted-phenyl)-1,4-dihydro pyridine-3-carboxylate derivatives. The obtained compounds were characterized by elemental, IR and NMR analyses and are proposed for antitumor evaluation.
