Taking into account that the substituted diphenyl sulfone is an important pharmacophore in medicinal chemistry, in this paper, we report the synthesis, characterization, and cytotoxicity evaluation of seven new compounds: six ethyl 1,3-oxazol-5yl carbonates and an acyclic product (ethyl ester of an N-acyl-α-amino acid), containing the arylsulfonylphenyl moiety. The synthesized compounds were characterized by elemental analysis and spectral techniques (UV-Vis, FT-IR, MS, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR). Their purity was checked by reversed phase HPLC. The cytotoxic effect of new compounds was assessed using Daphnia magna bioassay.
