A new compound with cholesteryl-derived structure containing a carboxylic acid functional group has been prepared in four steps starting from cholesterol. The product has been characterized by 1H, 13C NMR and mass spectrometry analysis. It will be used for liposomal preparations, in order to evaluate the interaction of liposomes functionalized with carboxylic acid functional groups and hydroxyapatite.
