A spectrophotometric method for the quantitative determination of bisoprolol was established based on the formation of an ion pair complex between bisoprolol and methyl orange, in acid medium, extractable in dichloroethane, with a maximum absorbance at 427 nm. The limit of detection (LoD) was 0.20 μg/mL and the limit of quantification (LoQ) was 0.66 μg/mL. The elaborated method was validated.
