Schiff bases of isatin/substituted isatins were prepared by reacting with 4- aminoantipyrine. The chemical structures were confirmed by 1HMR, IR spectral data and elemental analysis. The synthesized compounds were tested in vitro against a number of microorganisms in order to assess their antimicrobial and antifungal activity. The synthesized compounds were screened for their antioxidant activity, ascorbic acid being used as standard. All the investigated compounds were moderately active against Gram positive bacteria and they have a significant antioxidant activity.
