A new series of Schiff bases was synthesised by the treatment of (2RS)-2-(6-chloro-9H-carbazol-2-yl)propanehydrazide (carprofen hydrazide) with few benzaldehyde derivatives under microwave irradiation. The IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectroscopic characterization of newly synthesised compounds is reported. The Schiff bases were tested for antibacterial activity, the strongest effect being against S. aureus.
