The paper presents the assessment of the solubility, distribution coefficient and in vitro release from liquid and semisolid vehicles for organometallic complexes of copper with oxicam ligands. Aqueous buffers systems with physiological pH and biorelevant organic solvents such as n-octanol and isopropyl-myristate were used in developing simple experimental procedures. The substances were described as model entities for increased hydrophobicity and the results were discussed in terms of the utility and limitations of these methodologies for screening the feasibility of delivery across the skin.
