Several 2-(4-(phenyldiazenyl)phenoxy)acetic acid derivatives were prepared by refluxing method in an aqueous medium, and solvent-free and catalyst-free microwave-assisted method. Retrosynthetic approaches and structural analysis of the target compounds were performed. Spectral characterization (IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR) is reported. The antibacterial activity of the products was tested, the strongest effect being against S. aureus.
