The astringent, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and cicatrizing effect of a coldcream containing Sambuci folium soft extract was established in experimental model of thermal skin burns, in Wistar rats. Animals in the first group, treated with cold-cream containing 10% vegetal extract, had a favourable evolution, the wound healing being almost complete after 21 days. The reference group, treated with 1% silver sulfadiazine cream, and the control group, treated with cold-cream base, showed a delay of wound healing, the epithelisation after 21 days being incomplete.
