A simple, rapid and sensitive UV-spectrophotometric method was proposed for the quantitative determination of enalapril maleate from pharmaceutical formulations. This method is based on the dissolution of enalapril in phosphate buffer pH 4, with a maximum absorbance at 208 nm. The calibration curve was linear in the range 1 - 20 μg/mL and showed that the limit of detection (LOD) and the limit of quantification (LOQ) were of 0.3721 μg/mL and 0.9019 μg/mL, respectively. The method was applied for the determination of enalapril maleate from pharmaceutical dosage forms.
