Coumarin and their derivatives are a large chemical family which plays an important role in the field of drugs, in recent decades a large number of studies being done on this skeleton. Despite this fact, more researches are still required in order to synthesize and identify many other biological activities for the compounds. Twenty coumarin derivatives were synthesized in good yields and their purity and chemical structures were elucidated by TLC, elemental analysis, IR and 1H-NMR spectra. Their antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Sarcina lutea, Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and antifungal potential against Candida sp. were investigated. The results showed that all of the synthesized compounds have exhibited significant antimicrobial activity.
