The development of biopharmaceutical products has represented a true turning point in the history of modern medicine. Among them, monoclonal antibodies represent one of the most important therapeutic classes, being used both in diagnosis and research, and especially in the treatment of a wide range of conditions: autoimmune, infectious, oncological, allergic, neurological, degenerative. The COVID-19 pandemic would have had much more serious consequences without the unprecedented mobilisation of all researchers and medical workers around the world. Biological treatments represented by monoclonal antibodies have changed the dire prognosis of this disease, preventing clinical progression, as well as decreasing the number of hospitalizations and mortality rate. We conducted a retrospective study on a group of 197 patients confirmed with SARS- CoV-2 infection, in which we evaluated the impact of administering the combination of monoclonal antibodies Casirivimab - Imdevimab on clinical progression and the need for hospitalisation. The way in which monoclonal antibody treatment has radically altered the course of COVID-19 in patients highlights the essential role of innovative treatment modalities in shaping the trajectory of severe diseases.
