Abstract:
Drugs are often used in combination to achieve a desired therapeutic goal. The concomitant use of drugs may lead to drugdrug
interactions (DDIs), which may cause undesired effects in patients. Healthcare professionals should be provided with
necessary information about potential drug-drug interaction (pDDIs). The article reviews recent work done on pDDIs,
especially in patients with different age groups and co-existing disease conditions. The article also focuses on strategies for
the detection of pDDIs and provides information about utilization of these strategies for their prevention.
