Abstract:
The newly synthesized compound KVM-194, a derivative of aryl-aliphatic amino alcohols, possesses inhibitory activity
against a broad spectrum of pathogens. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of the novel compound
KVM-194 on the content and composition of Escherichia coli lipopolysaccharide. The obtained data suggest that KVM-194,
in the sub-inhibitory concentration, changes the fatty acid and monosaccharide composition of lipopolysaccharide. These
alterations may lead to changes in the structure, properties of the outer membrane, cell viability and its susceptibility to antibiotics.
