Abstract:
The aim of this study was to determine the effects of Sea Buckthorn pulp oil
intake (800 mg/day, 60 days) in hypertriglyceridemic waist phenotype obese children. Forty one obese children (10-18 years old) and thirty controls were involved. Modified ATP III (Adult Treatment Panel III) cut points for serum triglycerides ( 110 mg/dL) and waist circumference ( 90th percentile for age and sex) were used to divide obese children. Hypertriglyceridemic waist fenotype (n=17) and obese nonhypertriglyceridemic (n=24) obese groups were formed. Metabolic and inflammatory parameters were measured before and after sea buckthorn terapy.
