Abstract:

Synthesis of 2-[2- (2,6-dichloro-phenylamino) -phenylmethyl]-3-{4-[(substituted phenyl) amino]-1,3-oxazol-2-yl-}quinazolin-4(3H)ones (5a-o) has been achieved from 2- [(2,6-Dichlorophenylamino)-phenyl]-acetic acid (1) with thionyl chloride, gave acid chloride (2), from nucleophilic interaction of 2-[2-(2,6-dichloro-phenylamino)-methyl-3,1- benzoxazin-4(H)one (3), with urea nucleophile. The formation of the final compounds (5ao) have been established by elemental analysis, IR, 1H NMR and 13C NMR spectral data.
All compounds have been screened for their antibacterial and antifungal activities.
