Abstract:
The lipophilicity of 15 new thiazolyl-oxadiazolines was determined, using the principal component analysis (PCA) method. Retention indices were determined by reversed phased thin-layer chromatography (RPTLC). By comparing the results obtained from the lipophilicity data with the anti-inflammatory activity, it was revealed that, for a good anti-inflammatory effect, the compounds need to have medium lipophilicity values. Low or high lipophilicity values are associated with a decrease or abolition of the anti-inflammatory effect.
