Abstract:

The aim of this study is synthesis of some new penicillin and cephalosporin derivatives with N-(m-nitrobenzoyl)-D,L-methionyl and N-(p-nitrobenzoyl)-phenylglycyl radicals in lateral chain. The synthesis was realized by oxazolinone step, being known the high reactivity of this compound for nucleophylic agents. The chemical structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by elemental analysis data, IR and 1H-NMR spectral measurements. The synthesized compounds were also investigated for their antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klepsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli strains.
