Abstract:

The present study is based on practical aspects, and its aim was to optimise the manufacturing technological processes for obtaining tablets with paracetamol, acetylsalicylic acid and sodium metamizol, and to extend the direct compression procedure to active substances with a high therapeutic dosage. Special forms, granular in general, named DC (Directly Compressible), were concieved and manufactured by processing the active substances with different ratios of various excipients.
On such materials, the following parameters were studied: particle shape and size, flowing properties, volumetric characteristics, humidity content, behaviour during compression. The materials were compressed using an excentric machine and a rotating machine, and subsequently, the physico-mechanical properties of the resulting tablets were evaluated.
