Abstract:

The European Union – organization to which Romania will adhere in January 2007, is the result of a long process which began in May 1950, at the same time with the foundation of the European Community of Coal and Steel.
Along 50 years of changes, the European Economic Community (with this title since 25 march 1957) became in 1992, through the Maastricht Treaty, the European Union.
The adoption of European commune unit (first ECU, then EURO) and ratifications of agreements, such as Schengen (in 1993), Amsterdam (1999) or Nisa (2003), conducted to profound changes in Europe.
Even if before 1989, Romania did not know the real problems regarding consumption of drugs, because of its isolation, from that moment, the calamity of drug addiction struck Romanian society - forcing it to cross the stages passed by others countries in 100 years.
